Microsoft is making one of its more significant Intune licensing changes in years. Starting in July 2026, a set of advanced Intune Suite capabilities that previously required separate add-on licensing will be folded directly into Microsoft 365 E3 and E5, with rollout completing by August 1, 2026.
The features joining core E3 and E5 entitlements include Intune Remote Help, Intune Advanced Analytics, Intune Plan 2, Intune Privilege Management, Microsoft Cloud PKI, Intune Application Management, and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 1. Remote Help gives helpdesk staff secure, consent-based remote troubleshooting directly inside the Intune console.
Microsoft also tightened Multi Admin Approval (MAA) around this update. MAA policies now apply to API calls made through Microsoft Graph, not just interactive admin actions. If you use automation scripts or service principals to modify protected Intune resources, expect those calls to go through the same approval workflow as manual changes.
Check your Microsoft 365 admin center to confirm which E3/E5 subscriptions you're on and whether the new capabilities have rolled out to your tenant yet.
